  1. Develop and implement educational programs and workshops on various agriculture and natural resources topics for local farmers and community members.
  2. Conduct research and collect data to stay current on industry trends and best practices in agriculture and natural resources.
  3. Collaborate with other Extension Agents and specialists to create educational materials and resources for the community.
  4. Maintain strong relationships with local farmers and community members to understand their needs and tailor extension programs accordingly.
  5. Provide one-on-one consultations and assistance to individuals and families seeking information on agriculture and natural resources.
  6. Organize and lead community events and outreach programs to promote sustainable practices and raise awareness about important issues in the agriculture industry.
  7. Utilize technology and social media to reach a wider audience and promote Extension programs and resources.
  8. Act as a liaison between the community and the University of Kentucky, communicating research-based information and resources to the public.
  9. Develop and manage budgets for extension programs and projects.
  10. Collaborate with local and state agencies to address agriculture and natural resource concerns and seek funding opportunities for extension programs.
  11. Continuously evaluate and assess the impact of extension programs on the community and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
  12. Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to agriculture and natural resources to ensure accurate information is shared with the community.
  13. Maintain accurate records and reports of program activities and impacts for internal and external purposes.
  14. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in extension work and agriculture and natural resources.
  15. Uphold the mission, values, and goals of the University of Kentucky and the Cooperative Extension Service in all job duties and interactions with the community.

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree In Agriculture, Natural Resources, Or A Related Field.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience Working In The Agriculture Or Natural Resources Industry.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Local Agriculture And Natural Resource Issues.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills For Interacting With Farmers, Community Members, And University Staff.

  • Experience In Program Development, Implementation, And Evaluation.
