
Public Safety Telecommunicator
Public Safety Telecommunicators are responsible for answering calls for police, fire, emergency medical services (EMS), maintenance and escort services; monitoring fire, intrusion, emergency and maintenance alarms; and dispatching and coordinating police, fire, EMS and security officer units in both emergency and non-emergency situations. This position is responsible for maintaining files concerning building openings and closings and coordinating such efforts with building personnel and the Office of Planning, Design & Construction. Enter data to computer-aided-dispatch computer system. Program continuum computer on building openings and door schedules. Maintain & perform data entry to LINK/NCIC computer. Assist Parking Dept. customers with towing vehicles and requests for information.
LINK/NCIC and Telecommunications certifications are required within 6 months of employment
