
Certified Medical Assistant - Oncology
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Certified Medical Assistant to join our Oncology team. Our ideal candidate will possess a genuine passion for providing quality patient care, be a team player, and have a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate should have exceptional communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting physicians and other healthcare providers in providing quality patient care within an oncology setting. They will provide direct patient care, assistance with exams and treatments, and perform administrative duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:• High School diploma or equivalent• Current certification as a Medical Assistant• At least two years of experience in a medical setting• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team• Knowledge of medical terminology and oncology treatments and procedures
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with exams and treatments in an oncology setting.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Schedule and coordinate appointments, tests, and treatments.
- Collect patient data, including vital signs and medical histories.
- Assist healthcare providers with treatment plans and patient education.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.
- Perform routine laboratory tests.
- Maintain and update patient records.
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.
