
Certified Phlebotomist
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Certified Phlebotomist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing blood collection procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards. To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent interpersonal skills and have a passion for providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting and be certified as a Phlebotomy Technician by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). Responsibilities:
- Perform blood collection procedures according to established protocols and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all blood collections.
- Provide excellent patient care in a professional manner.
- Maintain current knowledge of phlebotomy techniques and standards.
- Ensure that all areas of the laboratory are kept clean and tidy.
- Comply with safety regulations and infection control procedures.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining supplies.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
- Perform quality control checks on blood collection instruments.
