Job Description

The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is looking for an experienced and motivated Director of Healthcare Compliance to join our team. We are looking for a leader with a passion for upholding the highest standards of compliance and ethics within the healthcare industry. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful compliance management, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to our mission and values.The Director of Healthcare Compliance will be responsible for overseeing all compliance activities for the Medical Center. The Director will ensure all applicable laws and regulations are followed and that all policies and procedures are up to date and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This position will also provide training and education to staff on compliance-related matters.Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, public health, or related field• 5+ years of experience in a healthcare compliance related role• Thorough knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare and Medicaid, and other applicable laws and regulations• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs• Experience managing a team of healthcare compliance professionals• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills• Ability to work independently and as part of a teamIf you have the qualifications and experience necessary to excel in this role, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all compliance activities for the Medical Center, ensuring all applicable laws and regulations are followed and all policies and procedures are up to date and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  2. Provide training and education to staff on compliance-related matters.
  3. Develop and deliver effective training programs.
  4. Manage a team of healthcare compliance professionals.
  5. Monitor and assess all compliance risks.
  6. Identify areas of non-compliance and develop strategies to address them.
  7. Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures.
  8. Respond to inquiries from regulatory authorities.
  9. Prepare and submit reports to regulatory authorities.
  10. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  11. Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify potential compliance issues.
  12. Monitor and analyze industry trends and developments.
  13. Keep abreast of legal changes and developments related to healthcare compliance.
  14. Develop and implement strategies to ensure ongoing compliance.
  15. Provide updates and reports to the executive team.
