LPN Ambulatory - Orthopedic Surgery

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Orthopedic Surgery team at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. As an LPN in our Ambulatory Services department, you will play an important role in providing exceptional care and support to our patients throughout their orthopedic surgery experience. You will bring your strong clinical skills, knowledge, and commitment to excellence to our team and help us continue to provide the highest standards of care. The ideal candidate for this role will have an LPN license in good standing and a minimum of 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care setting. You must also possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, have a commitment to providing excellent patient care, and be willing to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist orthopedic surgeons with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care for patients.
2. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the physician.
3. Monitor and document patient vital signs.
4. Provide patient education and support throughout the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative processes.
5. Assist with scheduling and coordinating patient appointments.
6. Provide direct patient care, including wound care, dressing changes, and wound site assessments.
7. Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment.
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
9. Comply with all relevant regulations and standards of practice.
10. Maintain current licensure and certifications.
