
Medical Office Assistant - Ophthalmology
We are looking for an experienced and organized Medical Office Assistant to join the Ophthalmology team at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC)! The Medical Office Assistant will be responsible for providing a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support the Ophthalmology team. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills. Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors upon arrival to the Ophthalmology office.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide general information about the Ophthalmology team's services.
- Assist with patient registration and documentation.
- Assist with the collection and preparation of patient records and medical documents.
- Prepare medical charts and forms.
- Assist with patient billing and insurance claims.
- Provide assistance to the Ophthalmology team with various administrative and clerical tasks.
- Ensure accuracy of patient records and maintain a neat and organized filing system.
- Update patient information in the electronic health records system.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and other applicable laws.
Knowledge Of Medical Terminology
