Job Description

The University of Mississippi Medical Center is currently seeking a professional and dedicated Police Officer to join our Campus Police team. This position is an amazing opportunity for a motivated individual to provide a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling our campus, responding to emergency calls, making arrests, and taking reports. We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to upholding the law and protecting our campus community. The ideal candidate must possess a valid Mississippi Police Officer Certification and have experience in a comparable law-enforcement role. The successful candidate should also be able to work independently, possess excellent communication and customer service skills, and have a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Patrol the campus on a regular basis in order to maintain a safe and secure environment
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency calls
  • Make arrests and detain suspects in accordance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Take reports and investigate incidents on campus
  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, and staff
  • Uphold laws and regulations and enforce campus policy
  • Exercise sound judgement when making decisions
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and act with integrity
  • Remain knowledgeable of updated laws and regulations
  • Act as an ambassador for the University of Mississippi Medical Center Campus Police

Job Qualifications
