Job Description

The University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) is seeking a skilled and passionate Resident in Orthotics and Prosthetics to join our team. This position is critical to our commitment to providing the highest quality of care to our patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care, including patient assessment, evaluation, patient education, and fabrication of orthotic and prosthetic devices.We are looking for a highly motivated individual with the commitment and drive to help our patients achieve their treatment goals. The ideal candidate should have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university and at least one year of experience in the field of orthotics and prosthetics. They must also have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently, and be well-versed in the principles of orthotics and prosthetics. Responsibilities:

  1. Perform patient assessments and evaluations to determine the best course of treatment for orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  2. Educate patients on the use and care of their orthotic and prosthetic devices.
  3. Fabricate custom orthotic and prosthetic devices for patient use.
  4. Work independently to complete patient treatments and follow-up care.
  5. Maintain patient satisfaction by providing compassionate care and positive attitude.
  6. Keep up-to-date with advances in orthotics and prosthetics.
  7. Collaborate with the medical team to ensure the best possible care for patients.
  8. Adhere to the standards and regulations of the field of orthotics and prosthetics.
