- Protect the safety and security of the University of Pittsburgh community by patrolling designated areas and responding to emergency situations.
- Enforce all federal, state, and local laws, as well as university policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough and accurate investigations into criminal activity, accidents, and other incidents.
- Provide assistance and support to students, faculty, and staff as needed.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions with the community.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess situations and determine appropriate actions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records and reports.
- Continuously assess and improve upon departmental procedures and protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations.
- Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for the University of Pittsburgh.
- Uphold and promote the values and mission of the University of Pittsburgh Police Department.
- Adhere to all legal, ethical, and departmental standards and guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisors or department leadership.
A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Equivalent.
Completion Of A State-Approved Police Academy Training Program.
At Least Two Years Of Prior Law Enforcement Experience.
Valid Driver's License And Clean Driving Record.
Ability To Pass A Comprehensive Background Check, Including Criminal History And Drug Testing.
