  1. Protect the safety and security of the University of Pittsburgh community by patrolling designated areas and responding to emergency situations.
  2. Enforce all federal, state, and local laws, as well as university policies and procedures.
  3. Conduct thorough and accurate investigations into criminal activity, accidents, and other incidents.
  4. Provide assistance and support to students, faculty, and staff as needed.
  5. Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity in all interactions with the community.
  6. Communicate effectively and respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  7. Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess situations and determine appropriate actions.
  8. Maintain accurate and thorough records and reports.
  9. Continuously assess and improve upon departmental procedures and protocols.
  10. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  11. Develop and maintain positive relationships with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations.
  12. Serve as a positive role model and ambassador for the University of Pittsburgh.
  13. Uphold and promote the values and mission of the University of Pittsburgh Police Department.
  14. Adhere to all legal, ethical, and departmental standards and guidelines.
  15. Other duties as assigned by supervisors or department leadership.

Job Qualifications
  • A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Ged Equivalent.

  • Completion Of A State-Approved Police Academy Training Program.

  • At Least Two Years Of Prior Law Enforcement Experience.

  • Valid Driver's License And Clean Driving Record.

  • Ability To Pass A Comprehensive Background Check, Including Criminal History And Drug Testing.
