Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacist to join our inpatient team in the Distribution department. As a Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate distribution of medications to our inpatient population. Your attention to detail and strong communication skills will be essential in providing the highest level of care to our patients.   1. Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and fellow staff members.
  2. Accurately and efficiently dispense medications to inpatients following established protocols and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure appropriate medication therapy and patient safety.
  4. Maintain accurate and complete patient medication profiles and records.
  5. Monitor patient medication regimens for potential drug interactions, contraindications, and appropriateness.
  6. Counsel patients on proper medication use, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  7. Educate patients and caregivers on medication administration and storage.
  8. Maintain a thorough knowledge of current pharmacy practices, laws, and regulations.
  9. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication safety programs.
  10. Keep accurate inventory of medications and supplies, and assist with ordering and stocking as needed.
  11. Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and other support staff.
  12. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  13. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  14. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  15. Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  16. Communicate effectively and professionally with all members of the healthcare team.
  17. Take initiative to identify and resolve medication-related problems.
  18. Be available for on-call and weekend shifts as needed.
  19. Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
  20. Embody the mission and values of the University of Rochester in all aspects of the job.

  • Doctor Of Pharmacy (Pharmd) Degree From An Accredited Institution
