Job Description

The University of Southern California is seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Federal Relations to lead its federal relations strategy. This individual will be in charge of developing and executing a comprehensive approach to federal policy and advocacy that advances the university’s mission and interests. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of the federal policy landscape and a proven track record of success in government and higher education. We are looking for someone with strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills who is able to work with diverse stakeholders, including policy makers, administrators, and faculty.The ideal candidate will:• Have at least 5 years of relevant experience in federal relations, government relations, or public policy• Possess a deep understanding of the federal legislative and regulatory process• Have demonstrated success in advocating on behalf of higher education interests• Possess excellent communication and relationship building skills• Have the ability to develop and execute a comprehensive federal relations strategy• Be a strong leader and team player• Have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant fieldIf you are an experienced professional with a passion for advancing the mission of higher education, we want to hear from you.
