1. Develop and implement nutrition programs for all student-athletes, taking into account their individual needs, goals, and dietary restrictions.
2. Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and other members of the athletic department to ensure that nutrition programs align with training and competition schedules.
3. Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of student-athletes' dietary habits and make recommendations for improvements.
4. Provide personalized nutrition counseling and education to student-athletes, including guidance on meal planning, hydration, and nutrient timing.
5. Stay updated on the latest research and trends in sports nutrition and incorporate this knowledge into program development.
6. Create and maintain relationships with local vendors and suppliers to ensure high-quality, nutritious food options are available to student-athletes.
7. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sports nutrition program, including budgeting, purchasing, and scheduling.
8. Train and supervise a team of sports nutrition interns and volunteers, providing guidance and support as needed.
9. Foster a positive and supportive environment for student-athletes, promoting healthy eating habits and positive body image.
10. Serve as a resource for coaches, trainers, and other staff members on nutrition-related topics.
11. Keep accurate records of student-athlete nutrition assessments, counseling sessions, and program outcomes.
12. Represent the university at conferences and events related to sports nutrition and dietetics.
13. Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines, including those set by the NCAA and other governing bodies.
14. Continuously evaluate and improve the sports nutrition program to ensure it meets the needs and goals of the athletic department.
15. Act as a leader and role model for student-athletes, promoting the values of teamwork, dedication, and healthy living.
