Job Description

Are you a compassionate and skilled therapist with a passion for working with students? The University of Utah is seeking an Embedded Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic and inclusive campus community. In this role, you will provide individual and group therapy services to students, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and promote mental health awareness and education. The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in mental health counseling or related field, be licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Utah, and have experience working with diverse populations.   1. Provide individual and group therapy services to students in a compassionate and effective manner.
  2. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans for students.
  3. Promote mental health awareness and education through workshops, presentations, and other campus initiatives.
  4. Maintain accurate and confidential records of student sessions and progress.
  5. Stay up-to-date on current mental health research and best practices in order to provide the most effective treatment for students.
  6. Conduct initial assessments and ongoing evaluations to determine the appropriate course of treatment for each student.
  7. Monitor and address any potential risk or crisis situations with students and take appropriate action to ensure their safety.
  8. Act as a liaison between students and other campus resources, such as academic advisors and health services.
  9. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students of all backgrounds and identities.
  10. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in all aspects of therapy and maintain appropriate boundaries with students.
  11. Participate in regular supervision and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
  12. Maintain a positive and professional relationship with colleagues, students, and other members of the campus community.
  13. Adhere to all university policies and procedures related to mental health services.
  14. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of mental health services on campus.
  15. Continuously evaluate and improve therapy techniques and strategies to better meet the needs of students.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Or Related Field.

  • Current Licensure As A Mental Health Therapist In The State Of Utah.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Providing Mental Health Therapy In A Clinical Setting.

  • Knowledge Of Evidence-Based Practices And Treatment Modalities For Various Mental Health Conditions.

  • Ability To Collaborate And Work Effectively With A Multidisciplinary Team, Including Physicians, Nurses, And Other Mental Health Professionals.
