Job Description

Prepare, process and audit bi-weekly, monthly, and off-cycle payrolls. Ensure employees are paid accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor/audit time and leave reporting, utilizing reports, queries, and tools (e.g., Cypress). Notify supervisors of unpaid absences and unapproved hours. Investigate payroll and benefit issues, resolving complex questions, issues, and problems. Advise new employees on benefits eligibility, application process (paper or self-service) and review paper applications for accuracy and timely applications. Provide guidance and support to employees regarding FMLA and leave of absence requests. Process all recruitment, staffing, classification, and related employment life cycle requests and transactions. Manage timelines, track deadlines, provide status updates. Consult with faculty/staff on recruitment, staffing, and classification strategies. Initiate salary costs transfers to correct payroll errors.

Job Qualifications
  • Five years of payroll and human resource experience in a University setting strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience using web-based financial software.

  • Prior experience applying policies and procedures as they relate to payroll, benefits, and recruitment, in a University setting preferred.
