Job Description

Valero Energy is looking for a highly motivated SCADA System Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for technology and a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.We are seeking an individual with a combination of technical knowledge and communication skills. The successful candidate must have a strong background in SCADA systems, programming, and network architecture. Additionally, they should have experience with building and maintaining control systems, installing hardware and software, and troubleshooting issues.The SCADA System Specialist should be highly organized and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They should have a good understanding of project management principles and be able to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this position.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the SCADA system. They will also be responsible for ensuring the system is functioning properly and efficiently and providing technical support to staff and customers. Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field• At least 5 years of experience working with SCADA systems• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python• Familiarity with industrial control systems and network architecture• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain SCADA systems, including programming, installation, and troubleshooting • Monitor and analyze the performance of the SCADA system • Provide technical support to staff and customers • Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the SCADA system • Ensure the system is operating properly and efficiently • Participate in project management activities • Create and update technical documentation • Collaborate with other teams and departments • Assist in the development of test plans and procedures
