Attention all experienced communications specialists! Vanderbilt University is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Communications Specialist to join our team and support our Prenatal department. In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your exceptional communication skills and strategic thinking to help disseminate important information and promote the prenatal services offered at our prestigious university. We are looking for a passionate individual with a strong background in communications, specifically in the prenatal or healthcare space.   1. Develop and implement strategic communication plans for the Prenatal department at Vanderbilt University.
  2. Craft clear and effective messages to promote prenatal services and initiatives.
  3. Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather information and ensure accurate and timely communication.
  4. Utilize various channels, such as social media, email, and print, to disseminate information and reach target audiences.
  5. Monitor and analyze communication efforts to measure effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in prenatal and healthcare communications.
  7. Serve as a liaison between the Prenatal department and other departments or external partners to coordinate communication efforts.
  8. Manage and maintain the Prenatal department's communication materials, such as brochures, flyers, and website content.
  9. Assist with crisis communication and manage sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
  10. Mentor and provide guidance to junior communications staff.
  11. Collaborate with graphic designers, web developers, and other creative professionals to create visually appealing and engaging content.
  12. Support events and campaigns related to prenatal services, including creating promotional materials and coordinating media outreach.
  13. Uphold the university's brand and messaging guidelines in all communications.
  14. Continuously seek opportunities to improve and innovate communication strategies and processes.

Job Qualifications
  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience In Communications, Public Relations, Or Marketing, Preferably In A Healthcare Or Academic Setting.

  • Bachelor's Degree In Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Or A Related Field. Master's Degree Preferred.

  • Strong Understanding Of Prenatal Health And Related Topics, Including Knowledge Of Current Research And Best Practices In The Field.

  • Demonstrated Experience In Developing And Executing Strategic Communication Plans, Including Targeted Messaging For Various Audiences.

  • Excellent Writing, Editing, And Verbal Communication Skills, With The Ability To Effectively Communicate Complex Information In A Clear And Compelling Manner.
