Legal Counsel

Vanguard is looking for an outstanding Legal Counsel to join our team. We are a leader in the financial services industry, and we need an individual who has the skills and experience to match. The Legal Counsel will report to the Chief Legal Officer and provide proactive legal counsel and support to all business areas.The ideal candidate for the Legal Counsel position will have a J.D. from an accredited law school and be a member of the bar in good standing. The successful candidate will have at least three years of experience in a law firm or as in-house counsel, demonstrated technical and business acumen, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice to all business areas in accordance with applicable law and regulations
• Analyze and interpret legal documents and contracts
• Develop and implement legal strategies to minimize risk
• Monitor and provide advice on regulatory changes
• Research and advise on corporate governance matters
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, leases and other legal documents
• Represent the company in legal proceedings as necessary
• Maintain records of all legal activities
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures
• Keep abreast of changes in the financial services industry and related legal matters
• Provide legal counsel and advice to management and staff
