Job Description

Washington State University is looking for an experienced, highly organized, and motivated individual to join our Museum of Anthropology team as the Assistant/Associate Professor & Director. This is a unique opportunity to combine a faculty appointment in the Anthropology Department with a leadership role in one of the largest and most vibrant anthropology museums in the region. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Anthropology or a closely related field and a proven record of scholarly research and teaching. They should have demonstrated experience in museum management, curation, and public programming. Demonstrable success in grant writing and a commitment to developing new funding sources is essential. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in creating meaningful public engagement with museum collections and a commitment to advancing the field of anthropology. We are looking for someone who is committed to working in collaboration with faculty, students, and staff in the Museum of Anthropology and across the University. The Assistant/Associate Professor & Director will provide leadership and expertise in the areas of curation, research, public engagement, and fundraising.
