Operate a commercial motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner, following all traffic laws and company policies.
Safely and efficiently navigate designated routes to collect and transport waste materials.
Conduct pre and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle is in proper working condition.
Complete all required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
Adhere to all safety protocols and standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
Maintain a clean and organized truck, ensuring that all equipment is properly stored and secured.
Troubleshoot and report any mechanical issues or vehicle malfunctions.
Continuously monitor and maintain proper levels of fuel, oil, and other vehicle fluids.
Demonstrate excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients and the general public.
Comply with all applicable state and federal regulations, including those related to hours of service and vehicle weight limits.
Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
Attend and participate in mandatory training and meetings as required.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

Valid Commercial Driver's License (Cdl) With Appropriate Endorsements: The First And Most Important Qualification For A Cdl Truck Driver Job At Waste Management Is Possessing A Valid Cdl With The Appropriate Endorsements. This Includes A Class A Or B License, As Well As Endorsements For Air Brakes, Tanker, And Hazardous Materials, Depending On The Specific Job Requirements.
Clean Driving Record: Waste Management Values Safety And Responsible Driving Practices, So Having A Clean Driving Record Is Essential For This Job. Candidates Should Have No More Than A Certain Number Of Points On Their Driving Record And No Major Traffic Violations Within A Certain Time Frame.
Experience In The Waste Management Industry: While Not Always Required, Having Previous Experience In The Waste Management Industry Is Highly Preferred For A Cdl Truck Driver Job At Waste Management. This Includes Experience Driving Large Trucks, Handling And Transporting Waste Materials, And Following Proper Safety Protocols.
Physical Fitness And Ability To Lift Heavy Objects: Cdl Truck Drivers At Waste Management Are Required To Load And Unload Waste Materials, Which Can Be Physically Demanding. Therefore, Candidates Should Be Physically Fit And Able To Lift Heavy Objects (Up To 50 Pounds) On A Regular Basis.
Strong Communication And Customer Service Skills: Waste Management Prides Itself On Providing Excellent Customer Service, So Strong Communication Skills Are A Must For This Job. Cdl Truck Drivers Will Also Need To Communicate With Their Team And Supervisors, So Being Able To Effectively Communicate Is Crucial. Additionally, Having Good Customer Service Skills Will Help Drivers Build Positive Relationships With Customers And Represent The Company In A Professional Manner.
