Waste Management is seeking a dynamic and experienced Commissioning Manager to oversee the start-up, testing, and optimization of our Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities across the country.   1. Oversee the commissioning process: The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for overseeing the start-up, testing, and optimization of Waste Management's Renewable Natural Gas facilities across the country. This includes developing and implementing commissioning plans, coordinating with project teams and contractors, and ensuring that all equipment and systems are functioning properly.
  2. Ensure safety and regulatory compliance: The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all commissioning activities are conducted safely and in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies. This includes conducting safety audits, reviewing and approving safety plans, and addressing any safety issues that arise during the commissioning process.
  3. Lead and manage a team: This role will involve leading and managing a team of commissioning engineers and technicians. Responsibilities include setting goals and objectives, providing guidance and training, and conducting performance evaluations.
  4. Develop and implement commissioning procedures: The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing commissioning procedures and protocols to ensure that all equipment and systems are tested and optimized in a consistent and efficient manner.
  5. Monitor progress and troubleshoot issues: The Commissioning Manager will closely monitor the progress of commissioning activities, identify any issues or roadblocks, and develop solutions to keep the process on track.
  6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: This role will require close collaboration with various internal teams, including project management, engineering, operations, and maintenance. The Commissioning Manager will be responsible for coordinating with these teams to ensure a smooth and successful commissioning process.
  7. Travel to project sites: The Commissioning Manager will be required to travel to project sites across the country to oversee commissioning activities. This may involve extended periods of time away from home.
  8. Drive continuous improvement: The Commissioning Manager will be expected to identify opportunities for process improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the commissioning process.

Job Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience In Commissioning: The Ideal Candidate Should Have At Least 7-10 Years Of Experience In Commissioning And Start-Up Of Renewable Natural Gas Facilities, Preferably In The Waste Management Or Energy Industry.

  • Technical Knowledge: A Strong Understanding Of The Technical Aspects Of Renewable Natural Gas Facilities Is Essential For This Role. This Includes Knowledge Of Biogas Production And Purification, Gas Compression And Liquefaction, And Power Generation Systems.

  • Project Management Skills: The Commissioning Manager Will Be Responsible For Overseeing All Aspects Of Project Commissioning, Including Timeline Management, Resource Allocation, And Coordination With Various Stakeholders. Strong Project Management Skills Are A Must For This Role.

  • Remote Work Experience: As This Is A Remote Travel Position, The Ideal Candidate Should Have Prior Experience Working Remotely And Managing Projects From A Distance. This Includes The Ability To Effectively Communicate And Collaborate With Team Members And Stakeholders Located In Different Regions.

  • Safety And Compliance: Waste Management Places A Strong Emphasis On Safety And Compliance In All Its Operations. The Commissioning Manager Should Have A Thorough Understanding Of Safety Protocols And Regulations Related To Renewable Natural Gas Facilities And Ensure That All Commissioning Activities Are Conducted In Accordance With These Standards.
