Direct employment activities of the assigned shift to assure properly qualified employees are recruited and hired for available positions. Contact various sources of labor supply to recruit manpower; interview job applicants and check qualifications against job requirements; refer applicants to plant supervisory personnel for interview and approval; investigate references where applicable and handle details of employee induction and orientation. Coordinate personnel policies and procedures to meet division and corporate guidelines and standards; assist department heads and supervisors in interpreting personnel policies and procedures and make recommendations for indicated personnel action. Conduct absence interviews, coordinate and conduct disciplinary interviews and termination proceedings involving employees and supervisory personnel; counsel employees regarding employment, financial, personal and job related matters.
