Job Description

The Lead Compliance Officer at Wells Fargo is an essential position that is responsible for overseeing all compliance activities related to internal and external regulations and standards. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing compliance issues in a large financial services organization. In this role, the Lead Compliance Officer will be responsible for maintaining an effective compliance program to ensure the company is meeting all applicable regulatory requirements.To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Business Administration, Economics, or Accounting, and have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role. Additionally, the successful candidate should be highly organized, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization. This position requires a strong understanding of federal and state banking regulations, and the ability to quickly identify areas of risk and develop effective strategies to mitigate them. In this role, the Lead Compliance Officer should be prepared to take the initiative to ensure that the organization is compliant with all applicable banking and financial services laws and regulations.

Responsibilities of the Lead Compliance Officer:

  1. Oversee all compliance activities related to internal and external regulations and standards.
  2. Maintain an effective compliance program to ensure the company is meeting all applicable regulatory requirements.
  3. Establish, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures that ensure the organization is compliant with all applicable banking and financial services laws and regulations.
  4. Identify areas of risk and develop effective strategies to mitigate them.
  5. Monitor and report on compliance issues and progress.
  6. Liaise with other departments and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  7. Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance policies and procedures.
  8. Stay abreast of changes in banking regulations and ensure the organization is compliant with those changes.
  9. Develop and maintain an audit program to monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  10. Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and provide information as requested.
