Transportation Manager

Werner Enterprises is looking for an experienced Transportation Manager to join our team. This role will require a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual with great leadership skills. As a Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the transportation department while ensuring that all standards are maintained.To be successful in this role, you must have at least 5 years of experience in the transportation industry, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and manage a variety of tasks and projects. You must also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be comfortable working with technology, and have a commitment to customer service excellence. Responsibilities:

1. Manage the daily operations of the transportation department, including personnel, resources, and activities.
2. Develop and implement strategies to ensure transportation standards are met.
3. Monitor performance, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement corrective action plans.
4. Oversee the budgeting, scheduling, and routing of freight and personnel.
5. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
6. Maintain records and prepare reports on transportation activities.
7. Supervise, motivate, and coach staff.
8. Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and vendors.
9. Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
10. Utilize technology to optimize processes and increase efficiency.
