Job Description

Members of the Firmware Tools Team work closely with Firmware Design Engineers to assist in the development of the latest hard disk drive (HDD) and solid state drive (SSD) products. Members of this team work in an Agile development environment to develop the in-house software tools used to interact, debug, and test the drives. The primary programming languages used are C++ and scripting languages such as Python and TCL. Firmware Tools engineers work in a team atmosphere in the Western Digital Development Lab, where there is full collaboration between firmware development, test, and tools engineers.

Job Qualifications

  • 1+ year of professional experience with C/C++ and software development is required.

  • Prior experience developing in Windows and Linux environments is a requirement

  • Prior experience working with disk drives and SCSI, ATA
