
Assistant University Archivist
We are seeking an Assistant University Archivist to join the Archives and Special Collections team at Western Washington University. The Assistant University Archivist will be responsible for managing and organizing the University’s archival collections, providing research support, and providing access to materials in accordance with established archival standards. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, collaborative, and innovative thinker who is passionate about preserving the University’s history.This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is interested in making a real impact on the University's collections and furthering the institution's mission. The successful candidate will have a commitment to excellent customer service, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.Qualifications include:• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field• 2 years of experience working in an archives, special collections, or library setting• Familiarity with archival standards and best practices• Demonstrated knowledge of cataloging and metadata standards• Working knowledge of digital asset management systems• Ability to work in a team environment• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written• Ability to work with attention to detail and accuracyIf you are a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented individual with a passion for preserving the University’s history, we encourage you to apply for this position.
