1. Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch appropriate personnel to the scene.
2. Monitor and operate various security and emergency systems, including radio and telephone systems.
3. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all incidents and responses.
4. Communicate effectively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, and external emergency services.
5. Collaborate with other campus safety personnel to ensure a coordinated and efficient response to all situations.
6. Monitor and report any suspicious or criminal activity on campus.
7. Provide assistance and support to individuals in distress, including medical emergencies and mental health crises.
8. Continuously monitor campus security cameras and take appropriate action when necessary.
9. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with high-stress situations.
10. Stay updated on all campus safety policies and procedures and ensure compliance at all times.
11. Assist with training and onboarding of new campus safety personnel.
12. Participate in regular drills and exercises to prepare for emergency situations.
13. Report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate department for resolution.
14. Attend and actively participate in meetings and training sessions related to campus safety.
15. Serve as a positive representative of Whittier College and promote a culture of safety and well-being on campus.
