
Inpatient Acute Care - Occupational Therapist

- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient-specific goals and evidence-based practices.
- Utilize various therapeutic techniques and modalities to address patients' functional limitations and promote independence.
- Monitor and document patients' progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and adaptive equipment to promote carryover of skills into daily life.
- Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards in patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient encounters.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and advancements in the field.
- Act as an advocate for patients and their families, providing emotional support and resources as needed.
- Comply with all hospital policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment.

Bachelor's Or Master's Degree In Occupational Therapy: A Minimum Of A Bachelor's Degree In Occupational Therapy Is Required For This Position, Though A Master's Degree Is Preferred. This Qualification Ensures That The Candidate Has Received Comprehensive Training In The Field Of Occupational Therapy And Is Equipped With The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Provide Effective Care.
Valid Occupational Therapy License: Candidates Must Possess A Valid Occupational Therapy License From The State Of Connecticut. This License Ensures That The Candidate Has Met The State's Requirements For Practicing Occupational Therapy And Is Qualified To Provide Care To Patients.
Experience In Acute Care Settings: Previous Experience Working In An Acute Care Setting Is Preferred For This Position. This Qualification Ensures That The Candidate Is Familiar With The Fast-Paced And High-Intensity Environment Of Inpatient Acute Care And Can Adapt To The Demands Of The Job.
Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills: As An Inpatient Acute Care Occupational Therapist, The Candidate Will Be Interacting With Patients, Their Families, And Other Healthcare Professionals On A Daily Basis. Strong Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For Effectively Collaborating With The Interdisciplinary Team And Providing Patient-Centered Care.
