- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures on patients in a safe and efficient manner.
- Obtain and analyze high-quality images to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses.
- Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and troubleshooting any issues.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment during procedures.
- Provide exceptional patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and addressing any concerns.
- Maintain patient records and documentation in a thorough and accurate manner.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in technology and techniques in the field of diagnostic imaging.
- Educate and train other healthcare professionals on the use of ultrasound equipment and procedures.

Certification: Candidates For The Ultrasound Sonographer Position At Yale New Haven Health System Must Hold A Valid Certification From The American Registry For Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ardms) Or The American Registry Of Radiologic Technologists (Arrt).
Education: A Minimum Of An Associate's Degree In Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology, Or A Related Field Is Required For This Role. Candidates With A Bachelor's Degree Will Be Given Preference.
Experience: Applicants Must Have At Least Two Years Of Experience Working As An Ultrasound Sonographer In A Hospital Or Clinical Setting. Experience In A Specific Area Of Ultrasound, Such As Obstetrics Or Vascular, Is Also Desirable.
Technical Skills: The Ideal Candidate Should Possess Strong Technical Skills And Be Knowledgeable In All Aspects Of Diagnostic Ultrasound Procedures. This Includes Proficiency In Using Various Types Of Ultrasound Equipment And Interpreting Images Accurately.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills Are Essential For This Role, As The Ultrasound Sonographer Will Be Working Closely With Patients, Physicians, And Other Healthcare Professionals. The Ability To Explain Procedures To Patients And Provide Emotional Support During Exams Is Also Important.
