  1. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of federal laws and regulations related to alcohol, tobacco, firearms, and explosives.
  2. Monitor and assess compliance with regulations and identify areas of risk.
  3. Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure compliance with national and international regulations.
  4. Create and implement compliance standards and policies to ensure adherence to regulations.
  5. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  6. Train and educate staff on compliance standards and regulations.
  7. Stay informed about changes in regulations and proactively make necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
  8. Investigate potential violations and work with law enforcement to take appropriate action.
  9. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of compliance and risk management activities.
  10. Communicate regularly with senior management on compliance and risk issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
  11. Represent the organization in interactions with regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders.
  12. Continuously evaluate and improve compliance and risk management processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
  13. Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and trends in compliance and risk management.
  14. Act as a role model for ethical behavior and promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout the organization.
  15. Handle any other duties or responsibilities related to compliance and risk management as assigned by senior management.

Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge Of Federal Laws And Regulations Related To Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, And Explosives: A Strong Understanding Of The Various Laws And Regulations Enforced By The Atf Is Essential For A Compliance Standards And Risk Officer At The Agency. This Includes The Gun Control Act, The National Firearms Act, And The Federal Explosives Law.

  • Experience In Compliance And Risk Management: The Ideal Candidate Should Have Previous Experience In Compliance And Risk Management, Preferably In A Law Enforcement Or Regulatory Agency Setting. This Includes Experience In Conducting Audits, Developing Policies And Procedures, And Implementing Risk Mitigation Strategies.

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills: The Compliance Standards And Risk Officer Will Be Responsible For Identifying Potential Compliance Issues And Developing Solutions To Address Them. This Requires Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills To Effectively Assess And Mitigate Risks Within The Scope Of The Agency's Mission.

  • Communication And Collaboration Skills: This Role Involves Working Closely With Various Stakeholders, Both Within And Outside Of The Agency. The Ideal Candidate Should Have Excellent Communication And Collaboration Skills To Effectively Convey Regulatory Requirements And Work With Others To Achieve Compliance Goals.

  • Attention To Detail And Accuracy: The Atf Deals With Highly Regulated Industries And Any Mistakes In Compliance Can Have Serious Consequences. Therefore, The Compliance Standards And Risk Officer Must Have A Keen Eye For Detail And Maintain A High Level Of Accuracy In Their Work To Ensure Compliance With All Applicable Laws And Regulations.
