- Serve as a representative of Amtrak and maintain a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
- Enforce federal and state laws, as well as Amtrak policies and regulations, to ensure the safety and security of passengers, employees, and infrastructure.
- Patrol designated areas, including trains, stations, and other Amtrak properties, to identify and respond to potential threats or hazards.
- Communicate effectively with diverse groups of individuals, including passengers, employees, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence to support criminal prosecution or internal disciplinary action.
- Respond to and handle emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, criminal incidents, and disasters.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies, both local and federal, to share information and coordinate efforts.
- Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed reports, including incident reports, arrest reports, and daily activity logs.
- Attend and complete required training programs to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the values and principles of Amtrak and the law enforcement profession, including integrity, respect, teamwork, and service.
Minimum Of High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education.
Completion Of A Certified Police Academy Program.
Possession Of A Valid Driver's License And Clean Driving Record.
Physical Fitness And Ability To Pass A Physical And Psychological Evaluation.
Prior Law Enforcement Experience Or Military Training Preferred.
