Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel to join our Wealth division. In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing legal support and advice to our business, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigating legal risks. As a member of our legal team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our business leaders and make a significant impact on our operations.   1. Provide legal support and advice to the Aviva Wealth division, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigating legal risks.
  2. Collaborate with business leaders to understand and address legal issues and implications related to the Wealth division's operations.
  3. Conduct legal research and analysis to support decision-making and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
  4. Review and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to the Wealth division.
  5. Keep abreast of changes in laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to wealth management and advise the business accordingly.
  6. Represent Aviva in legal proceedings, including litigation and arbitration, as needed.
  7. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and external legal counsel.
  8. Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance within the Wealth division.
  9. Train and educate employees on legal issues and compliance requirements.
  10. Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate them.
  11. Collaborate with other members of the legal team to share knowledge and best practices.
  12. Maintain accurate and organized legal records and documentation.
  13. Continuously review and improve legal processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  14. Contribute to the overall success of Aviva by actively participating in and promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  15. Act as a brand ambassador for Aviva, representing the company's values and mission in all interactions with stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.d.) Degree From An Accredited Law School

  • Active License To Practice Law In The Relevant Jurisdiction

  • Minimum Of 5 Years Of Experience As A Legal Counsel, Preferably In The Wealth Management Or Financial Services Industry

  • In-Depth Knowledge Of Wealth Management Regulations And Laws

  • Strong Analytical And Problem-Solving Skills, With The Ability To Provide Strategic Legal Advice To Stakeholders.
