Job Description

At Baptist Health (Kentucky), we are looking for an experienced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our Ambulance Services team. Our ideal candidate has a passion for providing the highest quality of patient care and a commitment to the core values of our organization. The successful EMT will be responsible for providing timely, professional and compassionate care to patients in an emergency setting.To be successful in this role, the EMT must possess the qualifications and knowledge of: Kentucky EMT certification; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification; a valid driver’s license; and the ability to lift and carry patients. The EMT must also have excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to make quick and sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.We invite you to join our team and provide the best care possible to the people of our community.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide timely and professional emergency medical care to patients.
  2. Assess patient condition and determine appropriate emergency treatment.
  3. Ensure that patient care is provided according to applicable laws and regulations.
  4. Administer medications, perform necessary treatments, and provide comfort to patients.
  5. Transport patients to medical facilities while maintaining their safety and comfort.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  8. Remain current on all relevant emergency medical techniques and developments.
  9. Operate and maintain ambulances and medical equipment.
  10. Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls as needed.
