Job Description

At Baptist Health (Kentucky), we are looking for a caring and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Our ideal candidate must have a passion for providing exceptional patient care and a commitment to excellence in the medical profession. The Medical Assistant is an integral part of our team, providing clinical and administrative support to the medical staff and patients.To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED and successfully complete an accredited Medical Assistant program. Additionally, prior experience in a medical office or hospital setting is highly desired. The Medical Assistant must have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide clinical and administrative support to medical staff and patients.
  2. Assist in examining and treating patients, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and performing basic laboratory tests.
  3. Prepare exam rooms, arrange medical instruments, and maintain medical supplies.
  4. Prepare and maintain patient medical records.
  5. Educate patients on medical issues and treatments.
  6. Answer phone inquiries and schedule patient appointments.
  7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all safety and sanitation protocols.
  8. Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations set by the medical office or hospital.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
