- Source and procure high-quality aircraft materials from reliable suppliers to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our aircrafts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and negotiate favorable terms and pricing.
- Monitor inventory levels and forecast material needs to ensure adequate supply for current and future operations.
- Conduct thorough quality checks on all materials received and reject any substandard or defective items.
- Keep track of all material transactions, including receipt, storage, and distribution, and maintain accurate records.
- Work closely with other departments, including maintenance, engineering, and operations, to identify material needs and provide timely solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in aircraft materials to identify new suppliers and better materials that can improve our operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards in the sourcing and handling of materials.
- Investigate and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to material orders, deliveries, and inventory.
- Continuously review and improve processes and procedures related to material sourcing and management to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Represent British Airways in a professional and positive manner when communicating with suppliers and other external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
