- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure the highest level of service and quality for our customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts and pricing, and onboard new suppliers.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and communicate expectations and goals to suppliers.
- Stay updated on industry trends and market developments to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and implement supplier management strategies to optimize costs and drive efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to resolve any issues or disputes in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on supplier performance, cost savings, and other relevant metrics.
- Continuously monitor and review supplier contracts to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance and procurement, to ensure alignment and consistency in supplier management practices.
- Act as a point of contact for suppliers and maintain a positive and professional working relationship.
- Mentor and coach junior team members to promote their professional development and ensure high-quality work.
- Represent the company at industry events and conferences to network and build relationships with potential suppliers.
- Adhere to all safety and security regulations while carrying out job duties.
Extensive Experience In Supplier Management And Strategic Sourcing: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Minimum Of 7-10 Years Of Experience In Managing Suppliers And Implementing Strategic Sourcing Strategies. They Should Have A Track Record Of Successfully Negotiating Contracts, Managing Supplier Relationships, And Delivering Cost Savings.
Strong Business Acumen And Financial Acumen: The Strategic Supplier Executive Will Be Responsible For Managing A Significant Portion Of British Airways' Supplier Spending. Therefore, They Should Have A Deep Understanding Of Business And Financial Principles, Including Budgeting, Forecasting, And Cost Analysis.
Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills: The Candidate Should Possess Excellent Communication And Negotiation Skills To Effectively Manage Relationships With Suppliers And Internal Stakeholders. They Should Be Able To Clearly Articulate The Company's Needs And Negotiate Favorable Terms And Conditions With Suppliers.
Experience In The Airline Industry: It Is Preferred That The Candidate Has Prior Experience In The Airline Industry, Specifically In A Procurement Or Supplier Management Role. This Will Enable Them To Understand The Unique Challenges And Complexities Of The Industry And Make Informed Decisions.
