Job Description

At Burns & McDonnell, we are looking for an enthusiastic GIS Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and be ready to take on a variety of responsibilities. We are looking for someone with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills who can help us improve our GIS capabilities and provide our staff with comprehensive, up-to-date GIS services.The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years of professional GIS experience. Additionally, they must be knowledgeable in the use of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and other GIS software. Experience working with aerial imagery, satellite imagery, and LiDAR data is also a plus.We are looking for an individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills who is able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will be organized, reliable, and have a positive attitude. Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, maintain, and implement GIS-based solutions to meet organizational needs.
  2. Create, maintain, and manage GIS data, databases, and digital maps.
  3. Utilize GIS tools and techniques to analyze and interpret spatial data.
  4. Design, develop, and implement GIS applications and systems.
  5. Prepare and present GIS data and information in a variety of formats.
  6. Stay up-to-date on emerging GIS technologies and trends.
  7. Provide technical support for GIS software, hardware, and services.
  8. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient GIS operations.
  9. Perform quality assurance and quality control on GIS data.
  10. Train and mentor staff on GIS usage and operations.
