Job Description

At Burns & McDonnell, we are looking for a GIS Specialist to join our team and bring their expertise to our GIS initiatives. Our ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual with strong communication and problem-solving skills. The GIS Specialist must possess a strong technical background in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software applications and databases. We are looking for a creative and innovative thinker who is passionate about GIS technology and its applications.In this role, the GIS Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing integrated GIS solutions to meet the needs of the organization. This position requires a thorough understanding of GIS programming language, database management, and data analysis techniques. The successful candidate should also possess excellent project management and problem-solving skills.The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, or a related field, and have at least three years of experience in GIS. Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and implement integrated GIS solutions to meet the needs of the organization.
  2. Utilize GIS programming language, database management, and data analysis techniques to create GIS solutions.
  3. Manage GIS projects from initiation to completion.
  4. Analyze and troubleshoot GIS software issues.
  5. Monitor the quality and accuracy of GIS data.
  6. Develop and maintain GIS databases.
  7. Work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders to ensure successful GIS projects.
  8. Develop and maintain GIS documentation.
  9. Provide training and technical support to users.
  10. Keep abreast of new GIS technologies and trends.

Compensation
