Medical Assistant - Cardiology

We are looking for an exceptional Medical Assistant for our Cardiology department at Children’s Hospital Colorado. The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced, self-driven professional with the ability to work with a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment. If you have a passion for providing compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families, we want to hear from you!To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent, a Medical Assistant certification, and at least one year of experience working in a medical office setting. Knowledge of cardiology and experience with electronic health records (EHR) is preferred. The ability to multitask and effectively communicate with patients and their families is essential. You must be comfortable and confident working autonomously as well as part of a larger team.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families.
2. Maintain patient records and manage electronic health records (EHR).
3. Assist physicians with patient exams and procedures.
4. Perform medical tests such as ECG, spirometry, and other laboratory tests.
5. Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
6. Monitor and document vital signs, patient history, and other data.
7. Educate patients and their families on proper medical care and treatment.
8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
9. Follow all safety and infection control protocols.
10. Participate in staff meetings, quality assurance activities, and continuing education opportunities.
