- Communicate with insurance companies and third-party payers to verify coverage and facilitate timely medication access for patients.

- Assist in inventory management and ordering of medications to ensure adequate supply for patients.

- Maintain a high level of compassion and empathy while interacting with pediatric patients and their families.
- Continuously update knowledge of pharmaceuticals and their uses in pediatric patients.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to pediatric patients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure the safety and accuracy of medication dispensing.
- Continuously monitor and report any medication errors or discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
- Complete all required documentation and reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Completion Of An Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program: The Ideal Candidate For This Position Should Have Completed A Pharmacy Technician Program From A Recognized Institution. This Will Ensure That They Have The Necessary Knowledge And Skills To Perform The Duties Of A Medication Access Specialist.
Pharmacy Technician Certification (Cpht): Certification From The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (Ptcb) Is Preferred For This Position. This Certification Demonstrates A High Level Of Competency And Knowledge In The Field Of Pharmacy, Which Is Essential For Handling Medication Access Processes.
Experience In Outpatient Pharmacy Setting: Previous Experience Working In An Outpatient Pharmacy, Preferably In A Pediatric Setting, Is Highly Desirable For This Position. This Experience Will Provide A Solid Foundation For Understanding The Unique Needs Of Pediatric Patients And Their Families.
Strong Knowledge Of Insurance And Medication Coverage: The Ideal Candidate Should Have A Strong Understanding Of Insurance Plans And Medication Coverage, Including Medicare, Medicaid, And Private Insurance. This Will Enable Them To Navigate The Complexities Of Medication Access And Ensure Patients Receive The Necessary Medications.
