  1. Greet and welcome patients and families to the unit with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  2. Assist in the admission and discharge process for patients, ensuring all necessary paperwork and documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
  3. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure timely and effective communication regarding patient care and needs.
  4. Maintain a clean and organized unit, including stocking supplies, tidying patient rooms, and ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for patients.
  5. Monitor and assist patients with daily tasks, such as meal times and personal hygiene, as needed.
  6. Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families, and assist in addressing any concerns or needs they may have.
  7. Accurately record and report patient information, including vital signs and any changes in patient condition, to the healthcare team.
  8. Assist with transporting patients to and from procedures, tests, and appointments within the hospital.
  9. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols, to ensure the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
  10. Attend and actively participate in team meetings and trainings to continuously improve upon job performance and patient care.

Job Qualifications
  • High School Diploma Or Equivalent: A Unit Assistant At Children's Hospital Colorado Should Have A Minimum Of A High School Diploma Or Equivalent Education To Ensure Basic Skills In Reading, Writing, And Math.

  • Previous Experience In A Healthcare Setting: Candidates With Previous Experience Working In A Hospital Or Healthcare Setting Will Have A Better Understanding Of Hospital Protocols And Procedures, Making It Easier For Them To Adapt To The Role Of A Unit Assistant.

  • Knowledge Of Medical Terminology: Familiarity With Medical Terminology Is A Must For A Unit Assistant At Children's Hospital Colorado As They Will Be Required To Communicate With Medical Staff And Assist In Patient Care.
