Job Description

Welcome to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where our mission is to provide exceptional care and support for our young patients and their families. As an Art Therapist, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and adolescents by utilizing the powerful medium of art to help them cope with and express their emotions. We are seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to join our team and provide art therapy services to our patients. This role requires a strong understanding of child development and therapeutic techniques, as well as a passion for working with children in a healthcare setting.   1. Conduct individual and group art therapy sessions with pediatric patients, using a variety of art materials and techniques to help them express and process their emotions.
  2. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to develop treatment plans and goals for patients, based on their individual needs and conditions.
  3. Utilize knowledge of child development and psychological principles to assess and address the emotional, social, and developmental needs of pediatric patients.
  4. Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient progress and treatment plans, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  5. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, helping them to understand and cope with the challenges of their medical conditions.
  6. Develop and implement art-based interventions to address specific treatment goals and objectives for patients, in collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  7. Act as an advocate for the use of art therapy in pediatric healthcare and serve as a resource for other healthcare professionals regarding the benefits and applications of this therapeutic modality.
  8. Continuously evaluate and modify treatment plans and interventions based on patient progress and response to therapy, making adjustments as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes.
  9. Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall treatment planning process, providing valuable insights and recommendations based on your expertise in art therapy.
  10. Stay up-to-date on current research and trends in the field of art therapy, incorporating new techniques and approaches into your practice to enhance the effectiveness of your interventions.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Art Therapy Or A Related Field, Such As Counseling Or Psychology.

  • Certification As A Registered Art Therapist (Atr) Through The Art Therapy Credentials Board.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Experience Working With Children And Adolescents In A Clinical Setting.

  • Strong Understanding Of Child Development And The Ability To Tailor Art Therapy Techniques To Meet The Needs Of Diverse Populations.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Collaborate With A Multidisciplinary Team And Communicate Effectively With Patients And Their Families.
