Job Description

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Donor Relations. This role will be a key member of the Development Team and accountable for leading donor relations activities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for CHOP’s mission and a desire to build strong relationships with our donors.The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with donors, prospects, and the CHOP Development Team. They will have a track record of success in donor relations and be a creative and strategic thinker. The Assistant Director of Donor Relations should have at least five years of experience in donor relations and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience in healthcare or related industries and knowledge of fundraising software preferred.

Responsibilities:

  1. Create and execute donor relations strategies to build strong relationships with donors, prospects, and the CHOP Development Team.
  2. Monitor and evaluate donor relations activities to ensure positive donor experiences.
  3. Develop and implement effective donor recognition and stewardship initiatives.
  4. Collaborate with the Development Team to provide strategic advice and guidance on donor relations activities.
  5. Lead and manage donor relations staff and ensure accuracy and timeliness of donor relations activities.
  6. Manage donor gift processing and acknowledgement.
  7. Prepare reports on donor relations activities and provide recommendations for improvement.
  8. Create and maintain records of donor contact, giving history, and interactions.
  9. Research and analyze prospects and donors to inform and enhance donor relations activities.
  10. Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful donor relations activities.
