Job Description

The Behavioral Health Technician at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) plays an integral role in supporting the care of our pediatric patients and their families. We are looking for a compassionate, organized, and self-motivated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in child-focused behavioral health care and will be responsible for providing direct care to patients and supporting the multidisciplinary team in providing excellent care.To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience, as well as a minimum of 2 years of experience in behavioral health care. Additionally, we are looking for candidates who demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work with a diverse population of patients. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and the principles of trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide direct care to pediatric patients and their families.
  2. Support the multidisciplinary team in providing excellent care.
  3. Utilize knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and the principles of trauma-informed care.
  4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  5. Monitor patient progress and provide ongoing updates to the care team.
  6. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  7. Build positive relationships with patients and families.
  8. Utilize effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  9. Create a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients.
  10. Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
