Job Description

At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), we are looking for an experienced and compassionate Behavioral Health Therapist to join our team. As a Behavioral Health Therapist, you will provide clinically sound psychotherapeutic interventions to children and adolescents with mental health and/or behavioral health needs. You will assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of mental health and/or behavioral health issues in order to improve the overall health and well-being of our patients.The ideal candidate for this role should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be passionate about providing excellent patient care, and have a clear understanding of the needs of children and adolescents with mental health and/or behavioral health issues. We are looking for someone who is excited to work in a fast-paced environment where they can make a positive impact on the lives of our patients.Required qualifications for this role include a Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, and professional licensure in the state of Pennsylvania as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). Additionally, the successful candidate should have at least two years of clinical experience working with children and/or adolescents in a mental health or behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities of a Behavioral Health Therapist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP):

  1. Provide clinically sound psychotherapeutic interventions to children and adolescents with mental health and/or behavioral health needs.
  2. Assess, diagnose, and treat a variety of mental health and/or behavioral health issues.
  3. Develop and implement treatment plans for patients to improve their overall health and well-being.
  4. Maintain a professional and supportive relationship with patients and families.
  5. Keep up to date on available resources for patients and make appropriate referrals.
  6. Maintain accurate and timely records of patient progress.
  7. Participate in regular team meetings and other clinical activities.
  8. Adhere to all relevant ethical, legal, and professional standards.
  9. Remain knowledgeable of current developments in the field.
