Job Description

The Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technician role at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a highly technical and important position that requires specialized training and a passion for working with children. We are looking for a detailed-oriented and caring individual to join our team who is committed to providing excellent patient care.The ideal candidate will have a minimum of an associate degree and certification in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field, and must be licensed or certified in the state of Pennsylvania. They should have several years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab and a thorough understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology. Our ideal candidate will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform all cardiac catheterization procedures, including preparing equipment, positioning patients, and monitoring patient vitals.
  2. Act as a liaison between the medical team and the patient's family.
  3. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in the lab.
  4. Monitor patient progress and document all findings.
  5. Ensure that the lab is equipped with the necessary supplies and equipment.
  6. Assist physicians with patient assessments and treatments.
  7. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure patient safety.
  8. Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding patient care.
  9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge and certifications in the cardiac catheterization field.
  10. Educate patients and their families on proper care and safety measures.
