
Genetic Counseling Assistant
The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is looking for a qualified and compassionate individual with a passion for genetic counseling to join our team as a Genetic Counseling Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to serve an important role in helping families understand and manage the diagnoses and implications of genetic and chromosomal disorders. You will be working closely with the genetic counselors and other healthcare professionals to provide education, counseling, and support to families affected by a genetic disorder. If you have a genuine interest in genetics, along with strong communication and organizational skills, we want to hear from you!Required qualifications include:* A Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling, or a Master's degree in another field with a Genetic Counseling Certificate* Previous experience working in a healthcare setting * Knowledge of and experience with genetic diseases, counseling techniques, and laboratory methods* Excellent communication and organizational skills* Proficiency in computing and data management
Responsibilities:
- Provide education and counseling to families affected by genetic and chromosomal disorders.
- Communicate effectively with genetic counselors and other healthcare professionals to ensure best possible outcomes for patients.
- Maintain accurate records of patient visits, tests, treatments, and other relevant information.
- Assist in creating and developing educational materials and programs for patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Act as a liaison between families and genetic counselors to ensure continuity of care.
- Assist in developing and implementing research projects to further understanding of genetic disorders.
- Provide resources and support to families in need.
- Stay up-to-date with new advancements in the field of genetics and genetic counseling.
Proficiency In Microsoft Office Suite

Bachelor's Degree In Genetics/Genetic Counseling
Knowledge Of Clinical Genetics And Genetic Counseling
