Job Description

At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, we are looking for a qualified and organized individual to join our team as a High-Level Disinfection/Sterilization Technician. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ensuring the highest levels of cleanliness and safety for our patients, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. As a High-Level Disinfection/Sterilization Technician, you will be responsible for effectively and efficiently disinfecting and sterilizing medical equipment and supplies in accordance with established hospital protocols and standards. Qualifications for this role include: • High school diploma or GED• A minimum of two years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting• Knowledge of infection control and safety practices• Ability to read, understand and follow written instructions• Excellent organizational skills• Ability to work independently and as part of a team• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.• Forklift certification (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  1. Use approved cleaning and disinfecting products to clean and sterilize medical equipment and supplies in accordance with established hospital protocols and standards.
  2. Maintain accurate records of cleaning and sterilization processes.
  3. Ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed.
  4. Troubleshoot issues with equipment and order or replace necessary parts.
  5. Monitor supplies and order new supplies as needed.
  6. Train and supervise support staff on proper cleaning and sterilization techniques.
  7. Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and organized.
  8. Follow established infection control protocols and good hygiene practices.
  9. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations related to disinfection and sterilization.
  10. Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
