  1. Conduct genetic counseling sessions with patients and families to help them understand the genetic risks and implications of their conditions.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients with genetic conditions.
  3. Perform genetic testing and interpretation of results to inform treatment and management plans for patients.
  4. Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements and research in the field of human genetics to provide the most current and evidence-based care.
  5. Educate patients, families, and healthcare providers on genetic conditions, inheritance patterns, and available resources.
  6. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient consultations and genetic testing results.
  7. Participate in research projects and contribute to the advancement of the field of genetic counseling.
  8. Serve as a resource for colleagues and trainees, providing guidance and support in genetic counseling techniques and procedures.
  9. Adhere to ethical and legal standards in the practice of genetic counseling.
  10. Continuously evaluate and improve counseling methods to ensure the highest quality of care for patients and families.
  11. Collaborate with community organizations and other healthcare facilities to promote genetic counseling services and raise awareness of genetic conditions.
  12. Maintain licensure and certification requirements and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
  13. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment.
  14. Act as an advocate for patients and families, promoting their rights and ensuring their needs are met.
  15. Participate in departmental meetings and committees to contribute to the overall goals and objectives of the hospital.

Job Qualifications
  • Master's Degree In Human Genetics Or A Related Field From An Accredited Institution.

  • Board Certification From The American Board Of Genetic Counseling Or Equivalent.

  • Minimum Of 2 Years Of Experience In A Clinical Setting, Preferably In Pediatrics.

  • Strong Knowledge Of Genetic Principles And Their Application In Patient Counseling And Testing.

  • Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills, With The Ability To Explain Complex Genetic Information To Patients And Their Families In A Sensitive And Compassionate Manner.
