Job Description

The Medical Lab Scientist - Technical Specialist at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia plays a vital role in ensuring that our medical laboratory services are of the highest standard. We are looking for a detail-oriented individual who is able to take on complex technical responsibilities while providing accurate and reliable results. The ideal candidate should have a passion for helping others and a commitment to helping us provide the best care for our patients.To be successful in this role, the candidate should have a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or a related field, at least five years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, and expertise in laboratory automation and instrumentation. The candidate should also be familiar with the principles of quality assurance and quality control, have strong analytical skills, and be able to interpret and troubleshoot laboratory results. An ability to work both independently and collaboratively, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a desire to stay abreast of new developments in the field of Medical Lab Science are also essential.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of medical laboratory services.

• Develop and maintain quality assurance and quality control protocols.

• Analyze and interpret laboratory results.

• Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advances in the field of Medical Lab Science.

• Work independently and collaboratively with other lab personnel.

• Develop and implement laboratory automation strategies.

• Communicate effectively with laboratory personnel and other healthcare professionals.

• Adhere to all applicable regulations and standards related to medical lab science.

• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
